City reminds residents of critical electricity upgrades in Helderberg and Somerset West

The City reminds residents in parts of Helderberg and Somerset West of an upcoming critical electricity supply interruption for infrastructure upgrades and maintenance, which will be carried out on Saturday, 27 June 2026 from 18:00 to Sunday, 28 June 2026 at 06:00. To view the area outage map visit: https://bit.ly/4xaKAwQ. The City apologises for any inconvenience caused while the essential maintenance is being carried out.

The work will be carried out from 18:00 until 06:00 the next day, if all goes to plan. An alternate date will be provided should the work not go ahead as planned. The maintenance will be carried out on:

  • Saturday, 27 June 2026 from 18:00 to Sunday, 28 June 2026 at 06:00

The following areas, within Helderberg and Somerset West, will be affected due to the scheduled critical electricity upgrades:

  • Vredenberg - Somerset West
  • Jonkers Hoogte
  • Helderberg Estate
  • La Montagne
  • Fraai Gelegen
  • Steenbras View
  • Helena Heights

  • Schonenberg
  • Somerset Ridge
  • Briza
  • The Link
  • Westridge - Somerset West
  • Silverboomkloof
  • Spanish Farm
  • La Concorde
  • La Sandra
  • Monte Sereno
  • Highveld
  • Montchere
  • Goede Hoop
  • Pearl Marina

It is important to note that while the impacted areas are listed above, the critical large scale electricity work may also affect surrounding areas. Please see the map where the electricity outage footprint includes street names of the impacted areas.

Please note:

The electricity supply could be restored at any time and customers must please treat all electrical installations as live for the full duration of the planned upgrade work. Residents are encouraged to switch off appliances as a precaution to avoid damage caused by power surges when the power comes back on. The City apologises for any inconvenience caused and thanks residents for their cooperation.
